This Deed, made this 18th day of May in the year one thousand nine hundred and nine between Mrs. Virginia C. Martin, C. H. Martin and Maud M., his wife, J. B. Martin and Lizzie C., his wife parties of the first part, and J. L. Rouzie party of the second part witnesseth: That in consideration of the sum six hundred and fifty ($650) dollars in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the said parties of the first part do grant unto the said J. L. Rouzie with General Warranty, all of that certain lot of land lying in Newtown in King and Queen County, Virginia, containing 4 acres more or less, adjoining the land of John G. Dew on the North, Mrs. N. B. Madison on the east, R. F. Broaddus on the West and the public road (transcribers note: Rt. 721) on the South. The said parties of the first part convenant that they have the right to convey the said land to the grantee; that they have done no act to encumber the said land; that the grantee shall have quit-possession of the said land free from all encumbrances and that they, the said parties of the first part, will execute such further assurance of the said land as may be requisite. Hutchinson, a Notary Public of the County aforesaid in the state of Virginia, do certify that Virginia C. Martin, C. H. Martin, Maud M. Martin, J. B. Martin and Lizzie C. Martin, whose names are signed to the foregoing writing bearing date on the 18th day of May 1909, have acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid.
