Soldier-Col.Gaskins Detachment  
King and Queen County

I do with advice of the Council hereby certify that James Taylor, aged about 25 
years, late a private in Col. Gaskins Detachment appears to have been disabled 
in such a manner while in the service of the Commonwealth as to entitle him to 
the sum of 12 pounds yearly; which allowance is accordingly made him, commencing 
on the first day of January 1786.  Given under my hand at Richmond this 5th day 
of January 1787.

Examination by Wm. Foushes states that a wound in the right arm fractured 
considerably so as to disable Taylor and resulted in his being discharged by 
Col. Davis.
