Located on :Cedar Grove Farm”. King George County, Virginia DATE: 1808 date of oldest grave. OWNERS: Descendants of the Stuart family. DESCRIPTION: This cemetery is kept nicely and has a nice fence and all of the graves have markers. Originally there was a lane to the cemetery marked with a row of cedars on each side, but most of the cedars are dead. Following are all of the inscriptions which gives the history of the Stuart family which lived at “Cedar Grove”. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Margaret Stuart wife of Richard Stuart departed this life 31st May, 1808 Aged 28 years Her remains are deposited at Popes Creek, Westmoreland county. Tho their bodies are separated their names and memories are united. Erected by their children Richard and Margaret Here rest the remains of Richard Stuart who was born 4th September, 1770 and departed this life 7th March, 1835 A devoted husband, tender father and generous friend. He died honored and lamented by all who knew him. In memory of Dr. Richard E. Stuart born May 31, 1808 died May 14, 1889 Numbered with Thy saints in glory everlasting In memory of Julie Calvert wife of Dr. Richard H. Stuart born January 31, 1814 died June 8, 1888 Blessed are the dead which die in the lord from henceforth; Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours. Children of Dr. Richard H. and Julie C. Stuart In memory of Mary Stuart born January 30, 1840 and died December 5, 1869 Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God Julia Calvert Stuart wife of E. Lee Jones M.D. born September 16, 1861 died in the city of New York, February 12, 1888 Richard son of Dr. Richard H. and Julie C.
