JONES WILL In the name of Almighty God Amen. I David R. JONES of the County of King George in the State of Virginia do make constitute and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following Viz.: Imprimis: I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Susan W. Jones all my estate both personal and real during her natural life or widowhood except that portion which I do otherwise devise in this will. It is my will and desire that my son William Alexander JONES shall when he arrives to the age of twenty one years or marry have in fee simple the tract of land in The Barnns which I purchased of Albert Band, Henry A. Settle and also that part of the ? tract which I purchased of Bailey T. Clift-----making----acres by survey formerly the land of Sarah Bryan deceased adjoining the lands of William Owens dec'd, Elizabeth Cox with all this appurtenances whereunto belonging to him and his heirs forever. It is my will and desire that my executors collect all the debts which may be due me and pay off all just claims against my estate and should there not be a sufficiency, then to dispose of such property as my wife can best spare for that purpose. It is my will and desire that the little tenement where James Staples now reside containing about ten or twelve acres of land shall belong to my sister Elizabeth B. Jones during her single live should she want it for the purpose of keeping house herself and that she shall have the privilege of pasturage and of getting wood fencing stuff and water from any of my lands adjoining the same with this acceptation that the said tenement shall be long to my son Henry Sidnor Jones at the death or marriage of my said sister Elizabeth. It is my will and desire that at the death or marriage of my wife that all the lands which I own lying on the south side of the road leading from Edge Hill to Millville and extending to The Mill run of Elizabeth Miffleton shall be equally divided (by a direct line from the said road to the said Mill run) between my two sons Henry Sydnor Jones and Edward Vinton Jones, and that the west end of the said land with all the appurtenances thereto belonging shall be belong in fee simple to my said son Henry S. Jones and his heirs forever after the death or marriage of my wife, and that the east end with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging shall belong in fee simple after the death or marriage of my wife to my son Edward Vinton Jones and his heirs forever. But it is my William and desire that Henry S. Jones hall have the privilege of using necessary oak wood and a reasonable portion of time off the land I purchased of William Jones dec'd. Now partly willed to Edward V. Jones, It is my will and desire that all the land which I purchased of Daniel Coakley lying on the north side of the road leading from Edge Hill to Millville shall be equally divided between my four daughters or those which may arrive to the age of twenty one years or marry at this period, it is my will and desire that they receive their portions of land with each a bed stead and furniture. In consequence of a mutual understand with my aunt Behethlem Rogers who has willed to my daughter her whole estate I leave my daughters so small a portion of my property, at the death or marriage of my wife it is only will that the balance of my estate be equally divided between my children then living and lastly I appoint my friends Wiley R. Mason and Solomon James Slaughter Brown Executors to this my last will and testament hoping that one or both of them may act for the sake of a departed friend disconsolate widow and helpless orphans. In testimony whereof I have hereunto let my land and affixed my seal this 7th day of September in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Six. Jones two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be...And at another Court held for the said County on the 7th day of September 1837 on motion of S Brown one of the Executors named in said Will who tog4ehter with Thomas B. B. Baker his security entered into. I acknowledged a Bond in the penalty of $2,000 conditioned according to Law Certificate is granted him for obtaining probate of said will in due form. Teste. E.
