The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Will: Robert Massey, 9 January 1793; 7 February 1793: King George Co., VA Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Sharon Clark, clarksha@swbell.net ************************************************************************** Will Book 2, Page 157-158, King George Co., VA Will of Robert Massey, 9 January 1793 - 7 February 1793 In the name of God, Amen, I Robert Massey of the county of King George and Parish of Hanover being of perfect sense & memory do make this my last Will in manner following First I give to my two sons John and Robert the plantation & Tract of land whereon I now live to them and their heirs forever to be equally divided agreeable to value taking into consideration the improvements & not confined to quantity subject nevertheless to the incumbrance of my daughter Rebekah's living with them so long as she shall remain unmarried 2nd I give to my two daughters Mary and Rebekah a bond which I now have upon Richard W. Ashton and Charles Ashton for the sum of forty pounds, together with all the interest thereon, to be equally divided between my said two daughters 3rd I give to my son Robert, and my daughter Rebekah, each one bed, bedstead & furniture 4th I give to my two sons James & William the sum of one shilling each & nothing more, to be paid out of such part of my estate as I shall hereafter direct for the payment of my debts 5th All the rest of my estate, stocks, furniture and of every kind whatever not heretofore devised I desire may be equally divided between my three children, John, Robert & Rebekah, all my just debts being first paid out of said remainder of my estate. Lastly I do appoint my two sons John & Robert executors of this my last will. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 9th day of January one thousand seven hundred and ninety three. Signed, Sealed & Acknowledged in presence of B. Ashton Robert Massey (seal) At a Court held for King George County the seventh day of February 1793 the last Will and Testament of Robert Massey deceased was presented the court by John Massey and Robert Massey the Executors therein named who made oath thereto according to law, was further proved by the oath of Burdett Ashton Genl. the only witness thereto & the Court being of opinion that the signature to the said will is the handwriting of the said Testator the same is admitted to record. And on the motion of the said Executors certificate is granted them for obtaining probate thereof in due form, having first entered into bond with Samuel Baker their security in the sum of three hundred pounds for the same.
