Taliaferro will 1838/1902 King George Co., Virginia I, Jas. G. Taliaferro, Senr. being of sound mind do make this my last Will and testament in manner and form following. Imprintis. My son, John having already received of me Negroes and money largely more than his fair share of my estate say twenty thousand dollars worth, I give him no more. My second son Wm. Taliaferro deceased had long since received the following Negroes, viz: Cezar, Lucy, and Luara, Essex, Abram, Muley and three children, therefore I have him no more. My third son Jas. G. Taliaferro I give and bequeath my Oakland Estate with the following named slaves George, Kiky, Fanny, and Jim and no more. To my fourth son Lawrence I give the tract of land called Stuarts near the Court House containing three hundred and forty acres to him and his heirs forever and to James the Oakland estate to him and his heirs forever. To my son Jas. M. Taliaferro I give the land called Kildee containing three hundred and twenty acres with the following Slaves Viz. Solomon, Baby, Milly and her two children, Alsey and her five children, Nelson, John, Cora, Mary and her two children and all the future increase of the above named women to him the sd. Jas. M. Taliaferro and his heirs forever. My wish is that Phill Dishman, Phill Allen, Tom Bellon, Phillis and her eight children, Nancy and five children, be equally divided between my two sons Jas. G. Taliaferro and Jas. M. Taliaferro share and share alike. It is my will and desire that my Servant woman Rosetta be manumitted together with her two children Morris and Thornton and lastly I appoint my three sons Jas. G. Taliaferro, Lawrence Taliaferro and Jas. M. Taliafaerro my Executors of this my last will hereby revoking all other wills. Signed with my hand and seal this 14th day of Jany. 1838. Jas.
