CONTRIBUTOR'S NOTE:
***Physician's report unreadable but could glean that Albion Gordon had damage 
and inflammation to his eye(s)? and lost his sight--could not tell if it was 
both or one eye, and that he was an invalid.


   I do, with the advice of Council, hereby certify that Albion Gordon, about 29 
years of age, late a Quartermaster Serjeant  in the 1st Regiment of Light 
Dragoons, appears to have been disabled in such a manner while in the service of 
The United States as to entitle him to the sum of eighteen pounds yearly; which 
allowance accordingly made him, to commence on the first day of January 1786.  
Given under my hand as  Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, at 
Richmond,this 5th day of March 1787.
