This Indenture made this 24th day of February in the year of our Lord one
thosand eight hundred and forty sis between William Cole and Matilda his
wife of the county of Lee and State of Virginia of the one part and
Benjamin Dickenson of Lee and State aforsaid of the other part Witnessth
that the said William Cole and Matilda his wife for and in consideration
of the sum of fiftenn dollars current money of the United States to them
in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do grant bargain
and sale unto the said Benjamin DIckenson one undivided fith part of a
certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Lee being
the same land conveyed by Benjamin Dickenson to Elias Cole which deed is
of record in the county clerks office of the Lee County court book 107??
with all the apurtanances. To have and to hold the said undivided parcel
of land with all the apurtenances unto the said Benjamin Dickinson and his
heirs to the sole use and behalf of of him the said Benjamin Dickinson and
his heirs forever.And the siad William Cole and Matilda Cole his wife  and
themselves and  their heirs do convenant with the said Benjamin Dickinson
and his heirs that the said WIlliam Cole and Matilda his wife  and their
heirs  the said undivided fifth part  of said parcel of land with all the
apurtenances  unto the said Benjamin Dicinson and his heirs against the
claimsof all persons whoever shal defend  In witness of which the said
William Cole and Matilda his wife have subscribed and affixed their seals
