Lee Co., VA Markham to Fulkerson Deed Book 39 page 302... This deed made this 16th day of June 1896, by and between Ida Fulkerson of Rose Hill in the County of Lee and the State of Virginia party of the first part, and Richard H. Markham party of the second part. Witnesseth that the party of the first part, in consideration of the transfer of Lot No. 14 in Block No. 2 fronting 30 feet on Broadway & extending back 150 feet now owned by said Markham doth grant, bargain, sell, convey unto the party of the second part with covenants of general warranty a certain lot or parcel of land lying and between the Town of Rose Hill Lee County Virginia, and shown on the plot of said town as No. 11 in Block 3 and fronting on Broadway Street 30 feet, and running back 150 feet to have and to hold said lot of land together with its appurtenances unto the said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns in fee simple. Provided always never the less and upon conditions that said part of the second part his heirs or assigns or either of them shall not sell or permit any wine spirtuous or malt liquors or any intoxicating drink to be sold upon the premises of aforesaid within 10 year from 5th day of Oct. 1891 and the said party of the second part do hereby agree with the party of the first part that if he or his heirs or assigns should break the conditions aforesaid the said party of the first part their heirs or assigns at any time afterward shall and may re-enter upon said lot or parcel of land and re-possess and enjoy together with all improvements put there upon.
