Through my genealogy research I found the cemetery, cleaned it up and identified the 3 tombstones. They are as follows: (1)Elizabeth Allen, born 1775, died March 1, 1820. She is the daughter of David and Margaret Lee - there is a footstone with initials E.A. (2)James Allen, born 1769, died June 9, 1845, son of William and Sarah Allen - there is a footstone with the initials J.A. (3)John F. Allen, born January 1, 1823, died April 11, 1884, son of James Allen and his second wife Martha. (3) On May 1, 1999, I installed a historic marker on the site. It reads as follows: William Allen (1711-1799), an immigrant from Larne, Ireland, came to America in 1729 with his brother David. They were two of 23 children of Elder Robert Allen and Janet Hare. William first setteled in Hunterdon County, NJ, and in 1759 purchased 1150, acres in Loudoun and Fauquier Counties. In 1762, William purchased 900 acres on this site and called it "Red Hill Plantation". He was a revolutionary war soildier. Buried in this cemetery are his relatives. Installed: May 1, 1999. William is also known for establishing the first Ironworks known as "Union Forge" in New Jeresy. He went on to become Benjamin Franklin's nemesis in Philadelphia as the two argued on many issues.
