Given under my hand as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, at Richmond, this 15th of November 1787 T. Meriwether Signed: Edm. Randolph Documents show that Hamilton was killed at the Battle of Brandywine 1777, serving under Captain Francis Willis of Grayson's Regiment. Last pension payment recorded: April 29 1791.
