Soldier-Captain Grayson's Regiment
Loudoun County

Widow: Catharine

  I do with the advice of the Council hereby certify that Catharine Hamilton, 
widow of David Hamilton who was a private in Grayson's Regiment and died in the 
service of the United States, is entitled to the sum of eight pounds yearly; 
which allowance is to commence the first day of January 1787.  Given under my 
hand as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, at Richmond, this 15th of 
November 1787

  Documents show that Hamilton was killed at the Battle of Brandywine 1777, 
serving under Captain Francis Willis of Grayson's Regiment.

Last pension payment recorded: April 29 1791.
