Will of Samuel ARNETT
signed 18 Dec 1809 
found in Loudoun County, Virginia Will Book 1, pages 128,129 and 130.

In the name of God Amen. I, Samuel ARNETT of the County of Loudoun and State of 
Virginia being very sick and weak of body, but of perfect mind and memory, 
thanks be unto Almighty God for the same, and calling to mind the mortality of 
this body and __ that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain 
this my last will and testament. In manner and form following first and 
principally of all I recommend by soul into the hands of Almighty God, who 
givest me, and my body to the Earth from whence it was taken to be buried in a 
Christian like and descent manner at the discretion of my executors hereafter 
mentioned nothing doubting but at the general resurrection both soul and body 
will be reunited again by his mighty power. I lend unto Thomas JONES and his 
wife Sarah the house and two acres of land whereon the said JONES lives during 
their natural lives and at her decease to their son Alford JONES forever.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my beloved nephews Samuel WILLIAMS and Levi 
WILLIAMS each one third of the plantation whereon I now live, also I give unto 
Benjamin JACKSON one third of the said plantation that is I give the three last 
mentioned men the said plantation equally between them.

Item, I give unto my faithful friend Sarah JACKSON three hundred dollars to be 
raised out of my personal estate.

Item, as to the rest of my estate whether real or personal, I give unto my 
beloved nephews Thomas ARNETT son of Alexander ARNETT and Samuel ARNETT son of 
Thomas ARNETT to be equally divided between them and lastly I constitute and 
appoint Benjamin JACKSON and Samuel WILLIAMS whole and sole executors of this my 
last will and testament ratifying and confirming this will and this only to be 
my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 18th day 
of December 1809.

Signed and Sealed in the presence of Barten EWERS George MARKS John GREGG At a 
Court held for Loudoun County February 8th 1810. This last will and testament of 
Samuel ARNETT deceased was proved by George MARKS and John GREGG, the witnesses 
thereto and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of Benjamin JACKSON one of 
the executors therein named who made oath according to law and together with 
Martin EWERS and George MARKS his securities entered into and acknowledged their 
bond in the penalty of three thousand dollars condditioned as the law directs. 
Certificate is granted him for obtaining a __ thereof in due form.

Samuel WILLIAMS the other executor appeared in court and refused to quality a
