The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ******************************************************************************** Will of Rebecca Dulin signed 27 Jun 1861 found in Loudoun Co., VA Will Book 2Q, page 125-127 ******** I Rebecca Dulin of the County of Loudoun in Virginia, widow of John Dulin late of said County do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following hereby revoking all other wills and testament any papers by me at any time heretofore made I direct that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid by my Executor out of my estates including that which I hold under the will of my late husband. I give bequeath and devise to Alexander D. Lee of Loudoun County all my personal estate together with a slave named George formerly owned by my husband and one hundred and sixty acres of the tract of land owned by my late husband at his death which slave and land I give in the exercise of the right and power given me by my late husband John Dulin in his will. The said property real and personal is hereby given bequeathed and devised to said Alexander D. Lee in trust for the sole and separate use and enjoyment of my daughter Elizabeth now the wife of Newton Keene free from the control and management of the said Newtone Keene and free from all his marital rights and from all liability for his debts and contracts. The said Elizabeth shall have the use and enjoyment of said property exclusively and the said Trustee shall sell and convey or dispose of the same as she may at any time or times direct in writing and shall apply the same remaining at her death to such purposes or in such way as she shall direct by her will executed in the mode prescribed by the laws of Virginia now in force for the Execution of wills or he shall divide it among the children or descendants of said Elizabeth equally per Slirpes[?] if she fail to make such directions by will. The said 160 acres shall be laid off and taken on the west side of and adjoining the County Road as it now is passing across the said tract, the same to adjoin the said line of said Road for its entire length on s'd tract. I give and bequeath the residue of the said tract equally as follows One equal share to my son Alfred Dulin, a like share to my son James Dulin a like share to the children of my deceased daughter Lydia Ann Latimer and a like share to my son Francis Dulin except that from the share of said Francis shall be taken a portion equal in value to the sum of Forty five dollars and ninety three cents with interest thereon from the 8th day of February eighteen hundred and forty one until my death which portion equal to said sum and interest I give to the children of my said daughter Lydia Ann, and the same shall be in extinction of the amount which said Frances ought n to have paid to said Lydia for [unreadable] of partition on the division of slaves in the Suit of A. Dulin and vs Keene and pending in the County Court of Loudoun in 1841. The bequest and devise made herein for the benefit of said daughter Elizabeth shall be in extinction of any demand of the said Elizabeth or of her said husband for bonds or attendance for me to this date I hereby appoint [blank; no name given] Executor of this my will Witness my hand this 27th day of June 1861. Her Rebecca X Dulin Mark The said Rebecca Dulin named in the above paper signed the same and acknowledged it as her will before us and requested us to witness the said acknowledgment and we have witnessed the said acknowledgment and subscribed our names hereto as witnesses of said will at the request of the said Rebecca in her presence and in presence of each other the said Rebecca being in our opinion of sound and disposing mind and of testamentary capacity. Benjamin Bridges Jr G M Woods At a Court held for Loudoun County Oct. 9th 1865 A paper purporting to be the last will and testament of Rebecca Dulin deceased is as presented to the Court proved by the oaths of Benjamin Bridges and George M. Woods two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded And the said Rebecca Dulin having departed this life more than three months ago and no person having applied for administration on her estate On the motion of Newton Keene it is ordered that Sam'l C.
