LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA - WILLS - Mason French, 27 Sep 1817 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- LOUDOUN COUNTY Clerk of the Circuit Court Will Book N, Pages 111 & 142 WILL RECORD of MASON FRENCH Page 111: In the name of God amen I Mason French of Loudoun County and Commonwealth of Virginia do make my last will and testament as follows All my just debts shall be speedily and punctually paid out of my personal estate I give unto my wife Ann French what the law entitles her to for and during her life I give unto my son Lewis French and his heirs forever the tract of land whereon I now live with the improvements thereon and he shall pay to my children named as follows to wit Mary Butler the wife of John Butler Sarah Bowen wife of Alexander Bowen James Burgess French Ann French Reuben French and Margaret Burgess French the sum of one hundred pounds each to be paid in six annual installments to pay the oldest first and so on to the next oldest until he pays the youngest and if either of them should die without issue than that part of the deceased shall be divided between such of them as may survive All the rest of my estate both real and personal wheresoever being and in whatever consisting shall be equally divided between my following children to wit Mary Butler the wife of John Butler Sarah Bowen the wife of Alexander Bowen James Burgess French Francis Ann French Reuben French and Margaret Burgess French and their heirs forever and if either of them should die before they arrive at lawful age then the part of the deceased to go and shall be divided between them who may survive I give to my daughter Jane Henderson the sum of five dollars I appoint my sons Lewis French and Reuben French Exec's of this my last will revoking all others In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 27th day of September 1817 Signed sealed published and declared in the presence of S. Blincoe and ordered to be executed And another Court cont'd and held for the County aforesaid the 12th day of August 1819 the same was fully proved by Fielding Berry the other subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be executed Page 142: INVENTORY RECORD of MASON FRENCH Loudoun County to wit 13 September 1819 On motion Lewis French Ext'r of Mason French Dec'd ordered that John Dulaney James Dulaney Henry Carter & Jesse Carter or any three of them of therein first being duly sworn do inventory and appraise in current money the estate of said decedant and make report to the court.
