In the name of God Amen I Abner Humphrey of the County of Loudoun and state of 
Virginia , calling to mind the mortality of the body and knowing it is appointed 
for all men to die, and after that to Judgement, I do make and ordain this my 
last will and testament in manner and form following. -- ---- My body to be 
interred in a decent manner at the discretion of my Executors. My soul I 
recommend to God that gave it hoping a happy resurrection at the Coming day. As 
to what earthly property the Lord has been pleased to bless me with I give and 
bequeath in the following manner to wit I give unto my son John G. Humphrey the 
following land, viz., beginning at a stone in Joseph Trews line and now a corner 
to John G. Humphrey thence with the road leading to Bloomfield to a stone in the 
road leading from my house to said Bloomfield thence with said road to a pair of 
Bars at the end of a stone fence, thence with said fence to a white oak marked 
with a saw on the North and South sides, thence West to a swamp white oak 
crooked at the butt on the East side of the branch thence parallel with a plot I 
have of Richard C. Graysons to Joseph Trews line thence with said line to 
beginning. Containing more or less which said John G. Humphrey is to pay fifteen 
hundred Dollars for three years after he gets possession of said land which is 
to go to his sisters in manner hereafter prescribed but if the money should not 
be paid the land is to be responsible for it. The balance of my Land I give unto 
my son Thomas G. Humphrey which he is to pay eighteen hundred dollars for six 
years after he gets possession of the Land which is three hundred Dollars yearly 
to go to his sisters in manner hereafter prescribed. But if the money should not 
be paid at the end of six years the Land is to be responsible for it. I likewise 
give unto my daughter Mary Settle one black girl named Dinah and likewise 
relinquish the deed of trust which I hold on Isaac Settles property to said 
Isaac Settle and Mary. I likewise give unto my grand daughter Elizabeth Settle 
one black girl named Milly now in the possession of Isaac Settle. Further my 
will is that the rest of my slaves be equally divided between my children to wit 
Tace Hixson, Elizabeth McVeigh, Hannah Beans, Parmelia Currell, John G. Humphrey 
and Thomas G. Humphrey. Further my will is that all bonds, notes, etc, in my 
possession shall be collected by my Executors and be equally divided between my 
four daughters, Tace, Elizabeth, Hannah and Parmelia and likewise the money 
which is to be paid by my sons agreeable to my will to be equally divided 
between my daughters. Further my will is that the rest of my personal estate to 
be sold, two hundred Dollars to be equally divided between my two grandsons 
Thomas and Abner, sons of Abner G. Humphrey dec'd. to be paid to their Guardians 
by my Executors as soon as collected, and the remainder of my Estate after all 
just debts are paid to be equally divided between my children agreeable to the 
accounts kept by me in a small book against them. To this my last will and 
testament I do hereby appoint my beloved sons John G. Humphrey and Thomas G. 
Humphrey my Executors revoking all others therefore made to which I have set my 
hand and affixed my seal this thirteenth day of November in the year of our Lord 
one thousand eight hundred and twenty four.
