"This is a copy of the Elijah Peacock will for publication on your board. Elijah 
is my ggGrandfather. He had three wives, Nancy Hough, Mary Jane Wright, and Ann 
Rose and children by all three. The origin or nature of the conflict he had with 
his older five children all born of his first wife who died in 1840 is unknown. 
Elijah was a farmer, store and mill owner, and sometime horse racing promoter. 
He lived on Broad Creek and the Leesburg Turnpike in Loudon County Virginia." –

I, Elijah Peacock of Loundoun County, State of Virginia, do hereby make my Last 
Will and Testament, in manner of the following; that is to say, I desire that 
all the perishable part of my estate except my household goods be immediately 
sold after my decease and out of the monies arising therefrom, all my just debts 
and funeral expenses be paid. Should the perishable part of my property prove 
insufficient for the above purposes, then I desire that my Executor, hereafter 
named, may sell my houses and land lying on broad run on the north and south of 
the leesburg turnpike in the county aforesaid and out of the monies arising 
therefrom, pay and satisfy such of my just debts as shall remain unpaid out of 
the sale of the perishable part of my estate. Secondly, after the payment of my 
debts and funeral expenses, I give my wife Ann Peacock one-third of m estate; 
that is my real estate and all my household goods to will and to do with it as 
she pleases, and the other two-thirds to be put out on interest until my son 
Flavius becomes twenty-one years of age and then to be equally divided between 
my daughter Nancy, my daughter Harriet, my son Franklin, my son Flavius, my 
daughter Sally, my daughter Mary, my daughter Catharine Susan and my son 
William, with the exception of one dollar for my son John, one dollar for my son 
Hector, one dollar for my son Noble, one dollar for my son Turner, one dollar 
for my daughter Rebecca, and one dollar for my son Lewis which I consider a fair 
reward for their conduct toward me. And lastly, I do hereby constitute and 
appoint my friends, John Hamilton and George Kephart, Executors of this my Last 
Will and Testament hereby revoking all other or former wills and testaments by 
me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed 
my seal this 7th day of October 1850.
