Pate Cemetery Location: In Green Springs, Virginia, 11.5 miles west of Louisa, Va., on Route #4 to intersection, thence south 4.4 miles on Route #15, thence 1 mile on Route #617, thence .2 miles south. Louisa County Owners: William Morris III was the first owner and builder of this interesting old home. It descended to his daughter, Anne, who married her cousin, Dr. James Maury Morris. This remained their home until 1863, passing then to their daughter, Betty Morris Jones, wife of P.B. Jones of Orange. In 1886 it was bought by John L. Boyd, and it now remains the property of his children. This home is one of the three oldest in the Green Springs section. The Green Springs originally belonged to this estate. There is an old graveyard, walled in with brick, that is reserved by the Morris family.
