VA LOUISA CO., VA DEED BOOK T, p. 578, 13 Nov. 1832: This Indenture made this 13th day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty two between Thomas Diggs of the County of Louisa of the one part and John Diggs of said county of the other part witnesseth: that the said Thomas Diggs in consideration of the natural love and affection which he bares to his son John Digges as well as for the further consideration of one dollar to him in hand paid by the said John Diggs at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained and sold, and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto my son John Diggs his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Louisa on the head waters of RockyCreek and the north side of the three chop road containing by resent survey two hundred and ninety nine and one forth acres, and bounded as follows to wit: Begining at a white oak on Eleven Smiths line and runing N58 de E.37 poles to pointers N. 2 1/2 d W20 poles to pointers N2 (d.?) To have and to hold the said land with all its improvements with all and singular its rights and previlages unto the said John Diggs his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Thomas Diggs reserves to himself a life interest in the said land and after his death to and for the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Diggs his heirs and assigns forever. and the said Thomas Diggs for himself and his heirs the aforesaid land and premises before mentioned unto the said John Diggs his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of him the said Thomas Diggs or his heirs and of all and every person or persons whatsoever shall will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents.
