Diggs/Holland Deed, 1832 - Louisa Co. VA LOUISA CO., VA DEED BOOK T, p. 577, 13 Nov. 1832: This Indenture made this 13th day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred & thirty two Between Thomas Diggs of the County of Louisa of the one part and Lucy Holland of the County of Fluvanna of the other part witnesseth: that the said Thomad Diggs in consideration of the natural love and affection which he bears to his daughter Lucy Holland as well as for the further consideration of one dollar to him in hand paid by the said Lucy Holland at or before the ensealing and delivery of thee presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given, granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto my daughter Lucy Holland her heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the Counties of Louisa and Fluvanna on the waters of the Byrd Creek on the south side of the three choped road containing by recent survey three hundred and three fourths of an acre, and bounded as follows, to wit: Begining at a pine of John Digges line and runing S 22 poles to pointers S 61 de W. 56 poles to a red oak thence S 20 de W 61 poles to pointers thence S. 58 de E. 141 poles to pointers thence N. 8 de E 26 poles to pointers near a spring thence N. 48 de E 8 poles on Sanders thence N. 78 de E. 14 poles, thence S 56 de E. 38 poles to a white oak thence N 19 de E. 36 poles to pointers thence N. 68 de E. 6 poles to a gum, thence S 58 de E 58 poles thence S. 58 de E 34 poles to a red oak, thence S 50 de E. 35 poles to pointers thence S 35 1/2 de W 102 poles to pointers. thence S 66 de W. 26 poles to pointers thence S 70 de E. 94 poles to pointers, thence N 32 de E. 40 poles to a white oak, thence N 5 de W 14 poles to a pine. thence N 12 de E 18 poles to a gum, thence S. 52 de E. 16 poles to a white oake. thence N. 25 de E. 170 poles to the three choped road and runing up the said road 116 poles, thence N. 62 de W 24 poles to pointers. thence N. 66 de W 192 poles to the beginning. together with all the improvements thereon and every part and parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said land with all its improvements with all and singular its rights and previleges unto the said Lucy Holland her heirs and assigns forever, and the said Thomas Diggs reserves to himself, a life interest in the said land and after his death, to and for the only proper use and behoof of her the said Lucy Holland her heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Diggs for himself and his heirs the aforesaid land and promises before mentioned unto the said Lucy Holland her heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of him the said Thomas Diggs or his heirs and of all and every other person or persons whatsoever, shall will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents.
