Deed of Joseph Woolfolk to his Bibb grandchildren - 1768 Clerk's margin note: Woolfolk to his grandchildren To all Christian People to whom this presents shall come, I Joseph Woolfolk of the parish of St. Margaret's and county of Caroline. Know that I the said Joseph Woolfolk for divers good causes considerations to me hereunto moving but more especially for and in consideration of the natural Love and affection I have and bear unto my grandchildren (that is to say) David Bibb, Thos Bibb, Sally Bibb & Lucy Bibb and my daughter Elizabeth Bibb Do give and grant and confirm unto the above said David Bibb, Thos. Bibb, Sally Bibb & Lucy Bibb after the death of my daughter Elizabeth Bibb two negro girls named Dinah and Hanah to them and their heirs to be equally divided between them the said negroes being given unto my daughter and grand children for and towards their maintenance and lively hood and to no other purpose whatsoever, Chas Bibb, the husband of the said Elizabeth Bibb having no property in the above said premises. To have and to hold the above sd negroes to their own proper use and behoof forever freely and Quietly without any claim or demand of me, the sd Joseph Woolfork or any other person or person whatsoever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eighteenth day of April 1768.
