Louisa County

Served in Col. Buford's under Capt. Thomas Catlett's Company.  Wounded in the 
left arm near the elbow; he also had a rupture>  Certified by W. Foushes 
(writing small, hard to read.)

  I do with the advice of Council hereby certify that Abraham (Abram) Davis of 
Louisa, aged about 35 years, late a private in Buford's Detachment, appears to 
have been disabled in such a manner while in the service of the United States as 
to entitle him to the sum of twelve pounds yearly; which allowance is 
accordingly made him, to commence from the first day of January 1786.  Given 
under my hand as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, at Richmond, this 
30th day of August 1786.  Signed: P. Henry
