Wm. Foushes, surgeon 13 May 1788 *****received his wound at Battle of Brandywine under command of Col. B. Bucknes in Captain Jacob's Company; he was between 35-40 years of age. I do with the advice of Council hereby certify that Joseph Sandidge of Louisa County, aged about 35 years, late a private in the 6th Virginia Regiment appears to have been disabled in such a manner while in the service of the United States that he is allowed the sum of ten pounds yearly, to commence from the first day of January 1786. Given under my hand as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, at Richmond, this 1st day of May 1786. Signed: P. (document hard to read, but document called him William Joseph Sandidge. Had received 10 pounds yearly, but was augmented to 15 pounds yearly in 1789.
