POUNCEY ANDERSON Will of Saint Martins Parish in Louisa County Being in perfect Sence & Memory blefsed be God for the same but Yes it Considering the Brevity of this life and that ^ is appointed once for all men to Die I do This Make Constitute and Appoint this my last Will & Testament In Manner & form Following First Commit my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it hoping through the Meritorious Death and my Blefsed Saviour to receive free pardon and remifsion of all my Sins. Next, I Commit my Body to the Earth to Buriedin a Christian Burial According to the Direction of my Ex’rs hereafter Named and as to my Small Estate both Real and personal which is ^ pleased God to blefs me With. I give and Bequeath following but first I will that all those Debts I owe in Right to any person be Discharged & fully Satisfied paid Within Covenient time after my Decease, and then the remainder Item all my Lands on the other side of the river lying in Louisa & Hanover County suppose to contain four hundred acres more or lefs to be sold and the money arising therefrom to be applied to the payments of my just debts, except the land on the upper side of the Holley Swamp I give unto my dear son Thomas to him and his heirs forever. Item the negroes now in pofsefsion of my dear son Thomas viz Anthony Adam & Robin I give unto him and his heirs forever also four ewes and Lambs. Item I give unto my dear wife the following horses the old Black Mare Ball, Blaze and a horse in Kentuckey a sorrel Colt and a sorrel horse called the Partnership. Item all my horses in Kentuckey together with the waggon and all plantation utensils are to be equally divided between my sons Pouncey Reubin and Richard except the blaze horse given unto my dear wife. Item I give unto Edmund Thompson now in his pofsefsion a negroe by the name of Aaron to him and his heirs forever and as a pledge of affection four Ewes and four Lambs. Item I give unto my dear son Thomas a mare by the name of Polley Todd. Item I give unto my dear wife during her natural life all the remainder of my stock of every denomination whatever. Item I give unto my dear son Edmond one bed six plates six Knives and Forks one pot and one frying Pan. Item I give unto my dear son Davy one bed six plates six knives and forks one Pot one frying. Item I give unto my dear Daughter Elizabeth one bed six plates six knives and forks one pot and one frying pan. Item I give unto my dear son Reubin and his heirs forever one hundred pounds out of the sales of my estate. Item I give unto my dear son Michael and his heirs forever five hundred acres of my land in Kentucky taking it from the lower Pouncey end of the line. Item I give unto my dear sons ^ Reubin, Richard Edmund and Davey four hundred acres each of my lands in Kentucky after the division takes place of the said land between the purchasers thereof and the said Land should hold out more than bequeathed to the last Mentioned Legatees I then give unto my son Thomas two hundred acres and also to Edmund Thomp=son two hundred acres and the remainder to be equally divided between my sons Pouncey, Reubin, Richard, Edmund and Davey. Item The land supposed to ontain six hundred acres more or lefs where on I now live above bequeathed to my dear wife together with the mill and all other tenements, may be sold any time during her life if she wishes to remove to Kentuckey, and out of the sales of the said Land I give her five hundred pounds whenever she may wish to go to Kentuckey, and the balance of the money arising from the above to be equally divided between my dear sons Pouncey, Reubin, Richard, Edmund and Davy. Item after the death of my dear wife the above mentioned Slaves bequeathed unto her viz John Kinney Davy Kin=ney Betty Kinney Mourning Davy, Lucy, James Bunch, Isaac Davy a lad. Hannah with her four children, John Salley Queen & Jasper I give unto my Dear son Michael and his heirs forever. Item all my stock of every denomination after the death of my dear wife heretofore bequeathed unto her I leave to be equally divided among all of my Children. Item I give unto my dear wife during her na=tural life all of my furniture including the plate and everything of that sort and after her death to my son Michael and his heirs forever. Item if my dear wife removes to Kentuckey or after her death in either case _ I give unto my dear son Thomas my ox cart and four steers to him and his heirs forever I give unto my dear Daughter Elizabeth on her marriage or at the age of twenty one one hundred pounds to be paid out of the sales of my estate.
