Will of Charles Nuckolls, 1767 - Louisa Co. VA I, CHARLES NUCKOLLS, of Louisa County do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following Imprimis I lend unto my beloved wife, KEZIAH all my estate, both real and personal during her widowhood and in case she should marry, my will and desire is that she may peaceably possess of my land and two of my slaves names Paul and Lucy during her natural life. Then I give and bequeath unto my two son JAMES and WILLIAM after the decease of wife KEZIAH, all my land to be equally divided between them and to their heirs and assigns forever, a my will and desire is that if either of the above mentioned sons should die without lawful issue, or before they attain to the age of twenty-one years, that then his part of the land shall descend to my son RICHARD his heirs and assigns forever and in case either of my above mentioned sons should die without lawful issue , or before they attain to the age of twenty-one years and that then his part shall descend to my son LEWIS and to his heirs and assigns forever. For this my will and desire is that at the marriage or death of my widow, that the remainder of my estate shall be equally divided amongst those of my children that are not possess of my land and further my will and desire is that in case wife should die before my children have got sufficient schooling, that then there shall be a sum sufficient raised out of my estate to maintain and school them and at age fifteen my will and desire is that my sons shall be bound'out to good trades till they attain the age of twenty years and I appoint CAPT.WADDY THOMPSON, SAMUEL NUCKOLLS and JOHN BULLOCK Executors of this my last will and Testament as witnessed by my hand and seal this fifth day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand and Seven Hundred and Sixty Seven.
