I Jesse Harris of the county of Louisa being weak in body, but of sound mind and disposing memory for which I thank God. And calling to mind the uncertainty of human life, and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give and bequeath the same in manner following 1st. I desire that all my just debts, and funeral expenses be paid, (out of money now due me) by my executors hereafter named. 2nd Item. It is my will and desire that my executors purchase a negro woman who is a cook, with part of the money which may be due my estate, to be added to my estate, as part of the same. 3rd Item. It is my will & desire that my black smith, old George, his wife Hannah & her three children Matilda, Washington, and Betsy to be sold, on a credit of twelve months, and the money arising from said sale, together with all other money which may be collected after paying as above mentioned, be put to interest, by my executors, untill some of my children marrys or comes of age, and either of them coming of age or marrying. I desire my executors to pay each of them their equal parts of said money, and interest which I give to them and their heirs forever. 4th Item. I lend to my beloved wife - Polly Harris, during her widowhood, or untill some one of my children come of age or marriage (to wit) Catharine Harris, Amelia & William Spiller Harris all the rest of my estate both real and personal, as it is my desire, that at the marriage of my said widow, or at either of my children's coming of age or marrying, that two thirds of my estate lent my wife, be equally divided amongst my said children to them and their heirs forever, and that my said widow have the use of the remaining one third during her natural life. 5th Item. It is my will and desire that at the death of my widow, that part of my estate I have lent her be equally divided amongst my said children before named, and their heirs forever. 6th. Lastly, I nominate my friend Arthur Clayton, and my wifes brother Thomas Boxley executors of this my last will, hereby revoking all other or former wills or testaments by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 2nd day of July 1806. And the said executors haveing taken the oath proscribed by law and entered into bond with approved security conditioned as the law directs.
