Married Martha Sims 1828, Persilla Cosby 1835, Eliza King 1843 and Sarah Estes date unk.) Louisa County Will Book 17, Page 41 I, JAMES M. WRIGHT, of the county of Louisa and state of Virginia, do make and publish this as my last will and testament as follows; namely: Item 1st: I desire and direct the payment of all my just debts. Item 2nd: After the payment of my debts, I leave to my wife, Sarah E. WRIGHT, during her natural life (should she not marry again) the whole of my estate, real and personal, to be enjoyed by her and such of our children as are of tender years, whose supporting education I earnestly desire and request. Item 3rd: At the death of my said wife, should my daughter Mary P. RICHARDSON, wife of James H. RICHARDSON, be alive, I give and bequeath to her $250.00; but if dead, my will and desire in that case is that the portion so given to her together with the whole of my estate shall be equally divided between the remainder of my children which I give and bequeath to them and their heirs forever. Item 4th: Should my said wife marry again, my will and desire in that event is that my hereinafter named executor shall allot to her 150 acres of land on which I now reside including all the buildings which I give and bequeath to her, and that the remains of my estate of every description shall be taken in charge of my executor and disposed of as directed in Item 3 to my children as they shall become of age, the same legatee and promise hereinto as to my daughter Mary P. RICHARDSON mentioned in Item 3 to be observed. Lastly, I do hereby nominate, constitute, and appoint my son Robert WRIGHT and my friend A. Hamilton JOHNSON to be executors of this my last will and testament thereby revoking all other or former wills made by me. Morris, two of the subscribing witnesses hereto, and is thereupon by the Court, ordered to be received(?) - And Alexander one of the Executors named therein, in open Court announced his right to qualify as such Executor whereupon on motion of Robert Wright the other Executor named in the last will and testament of James M. Wright, dec. who made with according to law and together with Alexander H Johnson, William T. Wright and Joseph Wright his securities who justified on with us to their sufficiency released into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of four thousand dollars, conditioned as the law directs a certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate of said will in due form, which said bond is ordered to be recorded.
