This cemetery is located on the site of the Old Meherrin Baptist Church, 1771,
on County Road 719 approximately 0.4 miles from County Road 623. At the
time of our visit on June 17, 1999 there was no marker on the road. We walked
to the top of a wooded hill where we found gravesites consisting of one
tombstone and about 20 fieldstones in all sizes. Some of the fieldstones were
almost hidden in a heavy covering of leaves, and there may have been others
buried by dirt, leaves, fallen branches, etc. The one tombstone had the
following inscription:

William A. Wallace
Born: Nov. 24, 1852
Died: July 3, 1929
