All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Margaret Ogilvie scopete@msn.com September 9, 2006, 3:32 pm Written: February 11, 1796 Recorded: February 11, 1796 Deed Blackstone Abernathy to John Hawkins 11 Feb. 1796 Lunenburg Co., VA Deed Book 17, p. 186 This indenture made this 11th day of February one Thousand seven Hundred and Ninety six, Between Blackstone Abernathy of the County of Lunenburg of the one part, and John Hawkins of the same County of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Blackstone Abernathy for and in consideration of the sum of seven pounds eight shillings and six Pence Current Money have this present day Bargained and by these presents do make and confirm unto the said John Hawkins his heirs Execs and administrators and assigns one certain Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the said County of Lunenburg on Meherrin River containing nine acres, and Bounded by the lands of Rennison Tisdale John Hawkins sen. and John Hawkins [Jr. ?] it being part of the said tract of land that I now live on purchased Thomas Garrott with all the Appurtenances and all and every part and parts Thereof unto him the said John Hawkins [Jr.?] his heirs assigns To have and to hold the same and singular the Rights together with the Reversions and Revisions and all and every part Thereof against him the said Blackstone Abernathy his heirs and all and every person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof he hath hereto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written. Sealed and delivered } Blackstone Abernathy {seal} In presence of Elizabeth P.
