All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Margaret Ogilvie scopete@msn.com September 9, 2006, 3:35 pm Written: December 10, 1795 Recorded: December 10, 1795 Deed Blackstone and Elizabeth Abernathy to Rennison Tisdale 10 Dec. 1795 Lunenburg Co., VA Deed Book 17, p. 155 This indenture made this 10th day of December in the year of our Lord Christ one Thousand seven Hundred and Ninety five Between Blackstone Abernathy & Elizabeth his wife of the County of Lunenburg of the one part and Rennison Tisdale of the Same County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Blackstone & Elizabeth for and in consideration of the just and full Sum of Fifteen Pounds Current Money of Virginia, to the said Blackstone and Elizabeth in hand paid by the said Rennison at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof we the said Blackstone & Elizabeth his wife do hereby acknowledge from the said Rennison and thereby do fully Exonerate him therefrom, do hereby bargain, sell, Enfeoff, deliver and confirm unto the said Rennison Tisdale his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land Situate lying and being in the County of Lunenburg on Maherin [Meherrin] River and bounded as follows to wit, Beginning at the said Tisdales Corner poplar on the River thence in a [ new? ] line to a corner Pine on the said Tisdales line, thence along the said Tisdales line to a corner Hickory, thence along the said Tisdales line to the beginning, containing by estimation Fifteen acres of land be the same more or less, together with woods, underwoods, water & watercourses houses fences and orchards with all and any Every appurtenance in any manner thereto belonging or in any thereunto annexed and we the said Blackstone & Elizabeth his wife do for ourselves our heirs Executors and admrs Covenant to and with the said Rennison Tisdale his heirs and assigns forever, to warrant and forever defend the Right and title and peaceable enjoyment of the above bargained and sold land unto the said Rennison Tisdale his heirs and assigns forever, in fee Simple to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Rennison Tisdale his heirs and assigns forever, against our heirs Execs administrators and assigns the lawful Claim or demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever, In witness whereof we the said Blackstone Abernathy Elizabeth Peterson Abernathy hath set our hands and seals the day and year first above written.
