To All ye Know Ye that for divenr good causes and considerations but more Especially for and in consideration of the Sum of Eight Pounds of good and lawful Money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia We Have Given Granted and Confirmed and by these presents for us our Heirs and Successors Do give grant and confirm Unto Francis Barnes One certain Tract or parcel of Land containing two thousand acres Lying and being in the County of Lunenburgh on the West or upper side of blue stone Creek and Bounded as followeth to wit: Beginning at goods Conner Red Oak or lower Corner on the said Creek thence along his line North thirty four Degrees West ninety four poles to a Hickory North ten Degrees West fifty four poles to a Red Oak North twenty five Degrees East fifty four poles to a White Oak thence ___ line North ninety Degrees West one hundred and twenty poles to a Pine North ten Degrees West three hundred and sixty poles to a white Oak West two hundred and two poles to a hickory South eight Degrees West six hundred poles to a hickory South fifty Degrees West one hundred and Ninety four poles to Cornish's Line thence along his line South twenty Degrees West on hundred poles to a white Oak thence a New line South fifty five Degrees East two hundred and fifty three poles to a Pine in Robertson's Line thence along his lines North twenty three Degrees East one hundred and sixty four poles to a White Oak South sixty two Degrees East one hundred and twenty poles to a White Oak on the break aforesaid and thence up the stream thereof as it Meanders to the f___ Station. Four hundred acres part thereof being formerly Granted Unto James Barnes by Letters Patent bearing Date the Twelfth Day of January one thousand seven hundred and forty six this right and title whereof is since become Vested in the said Francis Barnes and one thousand six hundred Acres the Residue never before Granted.
