Thomas Worthey of Lunenburg County for divers good causes and considerations but more especially for the love and affection I have for Thomas James and David James of the same county for which I hereby acknowledge my self fully satisfied contented and paid and hereby acquit exonerate and discharge the said Thomas James and David James their heirs ex'rs adm'rs from the same have given granted bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do give grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey and confirm unto the said Thomas James and David James their heirs and assigns forever one plantation and parcel of land containing three hundred and twenty four acres situate lying and being in Lunenburg County on the North side Stanton River joining Randolphs and John Marshes lines and bounded as follows viz: Beginning at Marches corner gum on Randolphs line, thence on Marshes line North eight degrees East one hundred and six poles to his corner spanish oak thence North twenty seven degrees West sixty poles to his corner red oak, thence South fifty six West forty six poles to his corner red oak, thence North sixteen West forty six poles to a small red oak, thence North thirty eight East two hundred and four poles to a white oak thence South sixty five East one hundred and sixteen poles to a red oak, thence South nine degrees West three hundred and forty two poles to a gum on Randolphs line, thence along his line North sixty degrees West one hundred and twenty four poles to beginning and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders thereof and all the estate right and title of him the said Thomas Worthy of in and to the said plantation and parcel of land with the whole appurtenances thereunto belonging TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said three hundred and twenty four acres of land to the said Thomas James and David James their heirs and assigns forever only I escript that Frances Howard their the said Thomas James and David James mother do and shall quietly and peaceably possess and enjoy the said plantation and parcel of land during her the said Frances Howard's life notwithstanding this deed of gift to her two sons together with all houses buildings orchards gardens woods underwoods rights priviledges rents profits and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging and the said Thomas Worthy himself his heirs, ex'rs adm'rs doth covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said Thomas James and David James their heirs exer's adm'rs and assigns forever warrant and defend the said land with the whole appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Thomas James and David James and their heirs and assigns forever against him the said Thomas Worthy his heirs exe'rs and assigns forever and against all and every person and persons whatsoever lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof under the said Thomas Worthy his heirs ex'rs adm'rs or any of them and also the said Thomas Worthy doth covenant and agree to and with the said Thomas James and David James their heirs ex'rs adm'rs or assigns to give such further and other assurants of any time within twenty years from this date as shall by the said Thomas James and David James or their Council learned in the law be reasonably devised, advised or required the further confirmation of this deed from the slaim of the said Thomas Worthy and all claiming under him in Witness whereof the said Thomas Worthy have to these presents set his hand and seal this [blank] day of [blank] in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty. THOMAS WORTHY MEMORANDUM that on the [blank] day of [blank] one thousand seven hundred and fifty quiet and peacable possession of the land and premises within granted and given was had and taken by the within named Thomas Worthy and by him delivered to the within named Thomas James and David James as the usual symbols of livery and seizure according to the form and [illegible] of the within deed. Signed, Seal'd and deliv'd in presence of THOMAS WORTHY At a Court held for Lunenburg County the 1 day of October 1751. The within written deed poll and the memorandum of livery of seizure hereon indorsed were by the above named Thomas Worthy acknowledged to be his act and deed and the same were ordered to be recorded.
