Know ye that I Thomas Worthy of the Parish of Cumberland in the County of Lunenburgh for divers good causes and considerations wetherunto moving but more especially for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have and bear unto my grandson Thomas Worthy, son of my son John Worthy, have given granted confirmed and firmly made over and by these presents doth give grant confirm and firmly make over unto my said grandson one bed and furniture, six plates, two dishes, six spoons, one iron pot, and one bay horse branded thus C. and two heifers now with calf. To have and to hold the goods and chattels aforesaid unto my said grandson his heirs and assignes to the only proper use and behoof of my said grandson his heirs and assigns forever. And I the said Thomas Worthy for my self my heirs and assigns doth hereby covenant grant and agree to and with the said Thomas Worthy my grandson as afores'd that I the said Thomas Worthy the aforesaid goods and chattels and every part thereof unto the said Thomas Worthy his heirs and assigns against me the said Thomas Worthy and my heirs executors or adm'tors. And all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. At a court held for Lunenburgh County the third day of June 1755 the within written deed of gift was by the within named Thomas Worthy acknowledged to be his act and deed and the same was ordered to be recorded.
