And to my wife Molly Ragsdale during her life or widowhood my whole estate real and personal for support of her and my children, but if she should marry I then lend her one child's part during her life. Page 153 George Tucker In the Name of God the Creator almercifull (sic) I George Tucker the elder of Lunenburg County in sound and disposing mine and memory make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in the manner and form following that is to say I recommend my soul to almighty God hoping to obtain mercy and salvation through the merits and mediation of my dear redeemer blessed forever, I give to my Dear beloved Wife Catharine Tucker the use of my Land and Plantation whereon I now live Containing about two hundred acres be the same more or less; as also my negroes and stock of horses Cattle sheep & Hogs, Beds and furniture, Tables, chairs, pewter, and all the rest of my Household furniture and Plantation utensils for and during her natural life or widowhood and after her decease or marriage then I give devise and bequeath the same as followeth to wit, My negro Ned to be divided equally between my sons Joel Lew & Robert, I give devise and bequeath my said Tract of Land immediately after the Death or marriage of my said Wife to be equally divided between my two sons, Joel Tucker and Robert Tucker to them I give and to their heirs respectively forever. I will and desire that after the death of my said wife my negro woman Linda be sold by my executors or such of them as may be then acting for the best price that can be had, and the same in case of her marriage and the money arising from such sale after paying all my cash Legacies the balance if any to be paid to my son Lew Tucker to whom I give it and his heirs forever I give devise and bequeath my negro Girl Moll and all her increase to my Daughter Milly Clay, and her heirs forever. I give devise and bequeath my negro Girl Sue and all her increase to my Daughter Biddy Tucker and her Heirs forever. I give Devise and bequeath my negro boy Isaac to my son Lew Tucker and his Heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my son William Tucker and my Daughter Fanny Coleman one shilling each having provided for them already I give devsie and bequeath unto my sons Henry Tucker, George Tucker and Joseph Tucker, the sum of Five pounds cash to be paid them after the decease or marriage of my said Wife as before directed to them or their Heirs forever and it my particular meaning and intent that in the Division of Land as before directed between my sons Joel and Robert my said son Robert Tucker have his hundred acres to include the plantation and all the rest and residue of my estate real and Personal of whatever kind to be equally divided among my five youngest children to wit, Joel Tucker Lew Tucker Robert Tucker Milly Clay and Biddy Tucker to them I give it respectively and their heirs forever I nominate constitute and appoint my said Wife Catharine Tucker to be executrix together with my sons William and Joel Tucker executors of this my last Will and Testament and desire that my estate be not appraised hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made. Item, First, I do desire to commit my body to the dust and my soul to God who first gave it. As to my Funeral Blessings, I give thus, Item, First, I lend to my dear wife, Mary Hudson, the land and plantation whereon I now live, in during her natural life also three negroes, Jack and --y--ees, and Nell, during life, also household and kitchen furniture in during her life and all stock of all kinds. Item, I give to my son Fredrick (sic) one negro man by the name of Hall. Item, I give to my son Rolin (could be Robin), one negro boy by the name of Choals. Item, I give to Mason Ward one negro girl by the name of Nancy. Item, I give to my daughter Betsey one negro girl by the name of Ginia. My will and desire is that the death of my wife the land and property be equally divided that I have lent her between my four children, Frederick and Rolin & Ward & Bestsy, to them and their heirs forever. Item - I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Mary Moon, the use and occupation of the Plantation whereon I now live as far down the creek as to a new line dividing it from the Plantation whereon my son William Moon tends and where I live, for and during his natural Life and after his decease I give the said Land to my son John Moon and his heirs forever, I do desire that he may have the Liberty of tending any part of the said land so as not interfere with that part my Wife may choose to tend, also, I give unto my said Wife two negroes by name Moses and Hannah, for and during her natural life and after her decease,to be equally divided among all my children then living, or the heirs of the bodies then living, lawfully begotten. Item - I give and bequeath to my son John Moon, three Ngroes by name Judah, Sarah and Jimmy and eight head of Cattle and one feather bed to him and his heirs forever. Item - I give to my son William Moon the lower end of my tract of land whereonI now live, as far up the Creek as to a new line dividing it fromthe Plantation whereon I now live and one Negro by name Winne andone feather bed to him and his heirs forever. Item - I give to my son Pleasant Moon, all the land on the Meherring Riverthat I have leased to John Cureton at the expiration of the leaseand three Ngroes by name Dick, Rose and Esther, one horse and saddle,eight head of cattle and one feather bed, to him and his heirs forever. Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Moon, one Negro by namePhill, one horse and saddle and one feather bed, twenty pounds Money of Virginia when she shall arrive to the years of eighteen to her and her heirs forever. Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter, Lurine Moon, one Negro by name Nelius, one horse and saddle and one feather bed and one cow and calf and twenty pounds, current Money of Virginia, when she shall arriveto the years of eighteen to her and her heirs forever. Item - I desire that the money, my son William Moon is owing me upon Landmay be applied to disharge a debt due by me to Daniel Claiborne for Negroes bought of him. I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Ingram's children, twenty Shillings. Item - I give to my daughter Ann Linch, twenty Shillings Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Dicey Scott, twenty Shillings. Item - I give and bequeath all the remainder of my Estate, not before willedaway, to my beloved wife, for and during her natural life and afterher decease to be equally divided among all my children then living, or the heirs of their bodies, lawfully begotten. Item - My son, Pleasant Moons Negroes is to work on the Plantation whereI now live until he is eighteen years old. Item - If either of my children die under age and without heirs of theirbodies, lawfully begotten, that then, the portion I have given tohim or her, shall be equally divided among all my children then living,or the heirs of their bodies, lawfully begotten. Lastly - I nominate, constitute and appoint, my said wife Mary Moon Executrixtogether with my sons, Abner, John and William Moon and John Cureton Executors of this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking all other former wills by me made, declaring this alone to be my last will and Testament. And on the motion of the said Executors (who made oath according to Law, certificate is granted them for obtaing a Probate of said will in due form, they having given Bond and securety, whereupon they, together with Archer Herrin, Thomas Ladd, William Moon, William Herrin and William Thackston, their securities, entered into and acknowledged Bond according to Law (reserving liberty to the other Executrix and Executors therein named to join in Probate therof when they shall think fitt. In the first place I desire that my just debt that I owe at the time of my making this will may be discharged as soon as may be out of my Estate, likewise I lend to my dearly beloved wife Mary Hardy two Negroes to wit Will and Lucy, during her widowhood likewise I give to my son Samuel Hardy seven thousand pounds Tobacco to be paid next to my aforementioned debts as soon as it can be done with Conveniency, to him and his heirs forever. Likewise I give to my son Thomas Hardy five thousand pounds tobacco to be paid in like manner, to him and his heirs forever. Likewise I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Hardy One Hundred and Twenty pounds to be paid in like manner, also one horse bridle and Saddle one feather bed and furniture and two Cows and Calves to her and her heirs forever, likewise I give and bequeath to my son Covington Hardy one Horse bridle and saddle one feather bed & furniture and two Cows & Calves to him and his heirs forever and at the Expiration of five years one Negro man named Stephen if the same Stephen should die before the Expiration of the aforementioned time that then said Covington Hardy shall have fifty pounds as soon as it can be paid with Conveniency to him and his heirs forever. Likewise I give and bequeath to my son Stith Hardy one horse bridle and Saddle one feather bed and furniture and two Cows & Calves to him and his heirs forever and at the Expiration of nine years one Negro named Charles if said Charles should die or anything should happen so that he should not be fit for Service said Stith is to have Sixty pound as soon as it can be paid with Conveniency to him and his heirs forever. Likewise I desire that my Dearly beloved wife should have the use and Occupation of my land & plantation together with all Utensils in doors and out doors as long as she remain my Widow & at the Expiration of her Widowhood all to be divided among the Survivors of my Children and their heirs, likewise I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Hardy Two Hundred Acres land together with plantation whereof he now lives beginning just far enough below his spring branch to run west course to Covington Hardy lines to him and his heirs forever then fall down said branch to lay off my son in law Lyddal Bacon fifty acres to him and his heirs forever, likewise I give and bequeath to my son Covington Hardy Two Hundred Acres to be laid off below said Bacons on same branch to his & his heirs forever. Likewise I give and bequeath to my son Stith Hardy all the Remains of my lands and my part of the Mill not interrupting his Mother to him & his heirs forever; Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my brother Covington Hardy together with my son John Hardy my whole and sole Executors of this my last will and testament.
