OWNERS: (blank) DESCRIPTION: (blank) HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: White Rock Cemetery is the largest colored cemetery in Lynchburg, Virginia. This cemetery dates back around fifty year (1936). All of the real old colored people and slaves are buried in the Methodist or what was known then as the City Cemetery on Fourth and Monroe Streets. The only people, white or colored buried there now, are some of the old settlers that owned plots of ground in the same. No tombstones in this cemetery dating as far back as 1865.
