MADISON COUNTY, VA - CEMETERIES – Weaver Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, William Henry Weaver graveyard: 1936 Dec. 30 Research made by Evelyn Tunison Cemetery Location: Turn east directly opposite Banco, postoffice, Virginia, from Route #16, go ¾ mile east to second entrance, ¼ mile to house. The graveyard is on the hill west of the house. Madison County, Virginia DATE: 1843. OWNERS: John Weaver, Banco, Virginia. (1936) DESCRIPTION: There is a very old graveyard on this place with a large number of graves. The slaves are supposed to be buried in the north section of the graveyard. There are no inscriptions, the markers being of plain rocks. There is no fence around the graveyard, and it is badly grown up in bushes and briers. There is known to be three generations of Weaver’s in this graveyard. The first being buried here in 1843. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: None.
