Deed transaction: Bluford Corbin and his wife Rebecca to Joel Hurt Madison County, Virginia, Deed Book 7, p. 29-30 [LDS Microfilm # 0032582] Recorded 25 May 1820 This Indenture made this twenty second day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen between Bluford Corbin and Rebecca his wife of the County of Madison and Commonwealth of Virginia of the one part, and Joel Hurt of the County and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Bluford Corbin and Rebecca his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said Joel Hurt before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and themselves therewith fully satisfied and paid, have bargained and sold, given and transferred, and by these presents, do bargain and sell, give, transfer and confirm unto the said Joel Hurt, his heirs and assigns forever, a certain parcel of Land containing about eight acres (be the same more or less) bounded as follows (Viz.) Beginning at a gum at or near Dennis Corbin's line and opposite to the upper side of the field where the said Bluford Corbin now lives thence South bearing West about thirty seven poles to three chesnut sprouts thence South bearing East about thirty seven poles to a jesuit at a drain and at William Hurt's line thence down the s'd drain to a yew tree & corner to the aforesaid Dennis Corbin at first mentioned drain, thence up the s'd drain with the s'd Dennis Corbin's line to the Beginning, with all the estate, rights, title, and interest whatsoever thereunto belonging, To have and to hold the said land unto him the s'd Joel Hurt, his heirs and assigns forever and the s'd Bluford Corbin and Rebecca his wife and their heirs shall and will warrant and by these presents forever defend the s'd land and premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the s'd Joel Hurt his heirs and assigns, freed and cleared, exonerated and discharged off and from, all former estates, rights, titles, debts, dowers, Judgments, executions or incumbrances whatsoever.
