Deed transaction: Dennis Corbin and Polly his wife to Bluford Corbin Madison Co., Virginia, Deed Book 7, p. 27-8 Recorded 25 May 1820 This Indenture made this twenty second day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty, between Dennis Corbin & Polly his wife of the County of Madison and State of Virginia of the one part, and Bluford Corbin of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Dennis Corbin & Polly his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of sixty five dollars, to them in hand paid, by the s'd Bluford Corbin receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, given and transferred, and by these presents, do, bargain & sell, give, transfer and confirm, unto the s'd Bluford Corbin, his heirs and assigns forever, a certain piece or parcel of Land containing about twenty five acres (be the same more or less) lying in the County of Madison, and bounded as follows (Viz) Beginning at a chesnut and spanish oak in a patent line formerly granted to Archibald Dick and now corner to Thomas Holder, thence with patent line forty five ps. to a spanish oak & hickory corner to the s'd Bluford Corbin at a drain, thence with his line down s'd drain fifty four ps. (both included) to a gum & yew tree on a branch, then down the s'd branch twenty ps. to two Jesuits corner to the af'd Thomas Holder, th. with his line fifty four ps. to the Beginning. with all the estate, rights, title, and interest, whatsoever thereunto belonging. To have and to hold the Land unto him the s'd Bluford Corbin his heirs & assigns forever. And the s'd Dens. Corbin and Polly his wife, and their heirs shall and will warrant, and by these presents forever defend the s'd Land and premises, with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the s'd Bluford Corbin, his heirs & assigns freed & cleared, exonerated & discharged, off & from all former estates, rights, -----, or incumbrances whatsoever. In witness whereof, the parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day & year above written.
