Deed transaction: Thomas Holder and Amy his wife to Dennis Corbin Madison Co., Virginia, Deed Book 7, p. 30-1 Recorded 25 May 1820 This Indenture made this 15 day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty between Thomas Holder and Amy his wife of the County of Madison and Commonwealth of Virginia of the one part, and Dennis Corbin of the County and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Thomas Holder and Amy his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & 5 dollars to them in hand paid by the said Dennis Corbin before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and themselves therewith fully satisfied and paid. Have bargained and sold, given and transferred, and by these presents do bargain and sell, give, transfer and confirm unto the said Dennis Corbin his heirs and assigns forever a certain parcel of Land containing about thirty five acres (more or less) within the boundaries herein mentioned (Viz) Beginning at a chesnut on the side of a mountain corner to Saml. Morris dec'd and running thence with the patent line So. bearing West eighty eight poles to a chesnut and ridge near a path corner to Layton Sisk, thence with his line So. bearing East one hundred and thirty eight ps. to a pine on broken back river, thence down the said river the several courses thereof to two yew trees corner to the s'd Morris dec'd thence with his line to the Beginning. with all the rights, title, and interest whatsoever thereunto belonging. To have and to hold the s'd land unto him the s'd Dennis Corbin his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Thomas Holder and Amy his wife and their heirs shall and will warrant and by these presents degend the s'd land and premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the s'd Dennis Corbin his heirs and assigns freed and cleared exonerated and discharged off and from all former rights, titles, debts, dowers, judgments, executions or incumbrances whatsoever.
