"This Indenture made this 3rd day of September eighteen hundred and ten by and between 
Alexander Newman and Ibba his wife of the county of Madison and State of Virginia of 
the one part and Henry Hill, Jr. of the county and state of Virginia of the other part. 
Witnesseth that the aforesaid Alexander Newman and Ibb his wife for and in consideration 
of the just sum of one hundred and sixty pounds current money of Virginia to them in hand 
paid the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge hath this day bargained, sold and delivered, 
and by these present do bargan sell and deliver unto the aforesaid Henry Hill, Jr. one certain 
tract or parcel of land containing eighty three acres be the same more or less lying and being 
in the County of Madison and adjoining the aforesaid Henry Hill, Jr., George Sims and Ambrose 
P. Hill and bounded as followth -- Beginning at three white oaks  corner of said Hill in John 
Ford's line, thence North 24. E 136 pole to two pines corner with Simes, thence with Sims line 
No 75. W 164 poles to a red and whilte oak on Tenants old church road, thence with the said 
road Sp24 W 28 poles to two black oaks corner to said Hill and from thence to the beginning -- 
Together with all houses, woods waters and water courses and every thing thereto belonging 
which is common and usual to be conveyed with land, which said land and premises as of 
aforesaid we the aforesaid Alexander Newman and Ibba his wife do warrant and forever defend 
unto the said Henry Hill, Jr. his heirs and assigns against the claim of us or any other 
person or persons whatsoever and futher we do warrant the aforesaid land and premises to be 
free and cler from any incumberances whatsoever.
