Go 4.5 miles, turn Route #602 until on top of hill. Mecklenburg County, Virginia DATE: About 1855. OWNERS: John Henry Johnson and heirs Mrs. M.A. Royster, present owner. (1936) DESCRIPTION: The graves in this cemetery are in a pasture, but has had a stone wall about two and one half feet high, all down now. It covers about an eighth of an acre, and contains many trees and bushes. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: This cemetery is located on the old Johnson place, and the inscription is: In Memory of John Henry Johnson Born April 14, 1809 Died June 12, 1859 and H.E. Johnson Died Aug. 23, 1855 Her voice is now joined with the angels songs, In a holier clime than ours A clime where there cometh no chilling blight, To wither the bright young flowers.
