Report returned and decreed accordingly. =================== Mecklenburg County, Virginia Chancery Court To the worshipful court of Meckenburg Count in Chancery sitting humbly complaining shew unto your oratrix your orator & oratrix Henry F. Farley & Nancy H. Farley his wife, that Larkin White, the father of our oratrix departed this life some years ago having first duly published his last will and testament, whereby directed his estate to be divided equally between your oratrix and (left blank) White, Sam'el D. White, Wm H. White & Larkin S. White, the children of said estate at a certain time stipulated in said will. That (blank space) one of said children sometime thereafter departed this life as infant? and unmarried, whereby the right to her share of said estate vested in your oratrix and said Sam'l, William, & Larkin S. White. That there are sundry slaves to which should be divided according to said will, but Henry H. Dedman, the Excutor of s'd testator refuses to make such division. Your orator & oratrix therefore pray that Henry H. Dedman, Sam'l D. White, Wm H. White, & Larking S. White be made defendants to this bill and compelled true answers to make thereto. That commissioners may be appointed to divide the slaves whereof sd testator de'cd possessed into four equal parts, and that they allot one part thereof to your orator & oratrix and one part thereof to each of the defendants, Sam'l D., Wm H. and Larkin S. White, to which end the decree of this court is prayed. The joint answer of Henry H. Dedman as Executor of Larkin White dec'd and of Wm White, Samuel White, and Larkin White by said Henry Deman their guardian, the respondent Henry as Executor aforesaid, admits the allegation of the bill to be true and is willing to the decree prayed for and as Guardian aforesaid likewise admits these to be true and submits to this court to make such decree as they may think proper. Farley & wife vs Dedman etc Decree This day this cause came on to be heard on the bill & answer where upon it is ordered & decreed that Joseph B. Clausel , Wm. Pettus, Thomas Norment, & John G. Baptist or any three be appointed commissioners to divide the slaves and their increase belonging to the estate of Larkin White dec'd into four equal parts and allot one part to the complainant Henry in light of his wife and one part to each of the defendants, Sam'l D. White, Wm H. White & Larkin S. White and make report to the Court. ============= Valuation of the slaves belonging to the estate of Larkin White deceased. Caesar $415. Betsy $350. Fanny $175. George Washington $150. Abby $100....$1034 Total Valuation of the slaves $4070. which sum of $4070 divided among the four legatees gives to each $1017.70. Pursuant to the annexed decretal order of Mecklenburg County court we the undersigned, commissioners therein named did on the Twenty ninth day of December in the year one thousand eight hundred and fourteen proceed to divide the slaves belonging to the estate of Larkin White deceased in the decree mentioned among the children and legatees of the said decedent, in the decree mentioned in the following manner. We allot to Henry Farley and Nancy his wife, Caesar $415. Betsy $350. Fanny $175. Tony $50. Their proportion of the said slaves is $1017.50 to receive $27.50. We allot to Samuel D. White, Daniel $450. Selina $250. Black Henry $350. His proportion of the said slaves is $1017.50 to pay $32.50. We allot to William H. White, Big John $475. Rachel and her child Bob $334. Yellow Henry $120. Little John $67. His portion of the said slaves is $1017.50 to receive $21.50. We allot to Larkin S. White, Tom $450. Matilda #334. George Washington $150. Abby $100. His proportion of the said slaves is $1017.50 to pay $16.50. All of which is respectfully submitted given under our hands the date above written. Joseph B.
