Mecklenburg County, Virginia  Deed Book 7, page 650

Indenture made the 6th day of October one thousand seven hundred and ninety between William 
Cleaton and Elizabeth his wife of the County of Mecklenburg on
one part and Thomas Booth of said county of the other part.  In consideration of the sum of 250 
pounds Virginia Current Money.  A certain parcel of land
containing 400 acres on the head of Mileses and Great Creeks and Bounded as follows.  Beginning 
at Malone's  Corner ash on a Branch of the great Creek, thence
along his line South 68 degrees, east 262 poles to Pennington's Corner red oak on the same and 
thence along his Lines South 80 degrees, west 100 poles to a
white oak, south 80 poles to a Hickory, thence New lines south 70 degrees west 110 poles to a 
white oak north 79 degrees west 200 poles to a red oak on the last
most fork of the great Creek north 173 poles to a Maple on the said Fork east 46 poles to a 
hicklory, north 12 degrees, west 9 poles to Malone's Corner pine,
thence along his line north 80 degrees, east 24 poles to a red oak on the Branch begun on and 
thence up the said branch as it meanders to the first station.
