VA Deed Bk 8, 1797-1800 pg 104 This indenture made this tenth day of January one thousand seven hundred and ninty eight between William Roberson of Mecklinburg County of the one part and Edward Moseley of Charlotte County of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Roberson for and in consideration of the sum of forty six pounds ten shillings of current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Edward Mosely the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath bargained, sold....unto the said Edward Mosely one certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in Charlotte County on both sides of Blue Stone Creek containing by actual survey thirty one acres being the same ore or less the lines and boundaries followeth viz: Beginning at corner pointers in Moseleys and running thence south five degrees west fifty seven poles with Moseley to a corner pine in Moseley and Roberson thence south sixty seven degrees east fifty seven poles with Roberson to a corner but no tree near a barn, thence south eighty seven degrees East eighteen poles with the same to a corner in Roberson thence north eight degrees west ninty eight poles with Roberson crossing the creek twice to a corner pine in Roberson and Webb and thence south seventy eight degrees west fifty eight poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular.....said Edward Moseley his heirs & against the claim or claims of him the said William Roberson or his heirs,..... In witness whereof I the said William Roberson have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal in the day and year above written. William Roberson Witness: James Howel, Griffin Dodd, Hillery Mosely, Isham Chastain, Arthur Moseley At a court held for Charlotte county the 1st day of July 1798. this indenture was proved in court by the oath of Griffin Dodd, Hillery Moseley and Isham Chastaine to be the act and deed of the said William Roberson and ordered to be recorded.
