J. Hayes & R H Marsh to be their act and deed and admitted to record Ex and mailed to RH March Oxford, NC per order on file Teste R.P. Hughes,? 29 April 1891 Fri 10¢ due for (confirming?) This Deed made this the 6th day of May 1880 by and between Wm P. Webb and Emma C. his wife of the first part and Mitchell Towler of the second part, witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the said Wm. P. Webb and Emma C. his widow do hereby sell and convey with general warranty of site to the said Mitchell Towler a part of their tract of land in the County of Mecklenburg State of Virginia lying on the North side of the old plank road and known as the Adams land and bounded as follows. Begin on North side of plank Road on the Branch, run up said Branch to a Maple, thence N47W18.44 ch, to a pine thence North 9.9 _ to Pointers thence So 87__E Thirty two ch 32, to a Oak on road leading to Willards Mill thence in a southerly direction along said road to the Old Plank Road thence up said plank road to the beginning containing sixty acres more or less to have and to hold the same forever. A Witness the following signatures and seals. Wm.P. Webb (seal) Emma C. Webb (seal) In the Clerk’s office of Mecklenburg County Court May 7th 1880 The foregoing deed of bargain of sale was this day acknowledged in the Clerk’s Office aforesaid by Wm P. Webb & Emma C. Webb, his wife, to be their act and deed, and at the same time opens the said Emma C. Webb being examined by me privily and apart from her said husband, and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her, she, the said Emma C. Webb acknowledged the same to be her act, and delivered? that she had willingly executed the same and did not wish to retract it. Where upon said deed is admitted to record.
