Halliburton North Sixteenth St. Waco, Texas Madam: I have to advise you that from the pension in the Revolutionary War pension claim S.9121 it appears that William Halliberton [or William H. Burton born in Mecklenburg County, Va] was a resident and enlisted in Caswell County, North Carolina June 12, 1778 and served until September as a private in Captain Robert Moore's North Carolina Company. On November 5, 1778 he re-enlisted and served until August 1779 as a private in Captain Robert Moore's Company, Colonel Dixon's North Carolina Regiment. He enlisted in September 1780 and served three months as a private, and as a substitute for his brother David Halliberton, in Captain Falkner's North Carolina Company. He enlisted in February 1781 and served four weeks as a private in Captain George Moore's Company, Colonel William Moore's North Carolina Regiment and was at Pyle's Defeat. He was allowed pension on his application executed August 20, 1832 while a resident of Wake County, North Carolina aged seventy-one years. It is not stated whether he ever married. Soldier's brother Thomas Halliberton who was two and one half years younger, was living in Person County, North Carolina in 1833 and the above named David was living in Tennessee in 1832. Said William Halliberton is the only soldier by that surname found on the Revolutionary War records of this Bureau. Respectfully, Acting Commissioner [Sol. had a half-brother Robt.
