Regt. of Light Dragoons in March 1780-was wounded at Lenoos? Ferry the ninth day of May following which rendered him incapable of serving after that and that he received no pay for the time he served, he enlisted for the war. Signed: BEDFIELD-Major, Dragoons Feb. 16 1785 I do with the advice of Council certify that Joseph Sears aged about 26 years, late a private in the 1st Virginia Regiment of Light Dragoons was disabled in such a manner by two wounds, one in his knee and one in his shoulder while in the service of the United States as to entitle him to the sum of ten pounds yearly, commencing on the first day of January 1786.
