21 March 1831                       Stephen Davis

Know all men by these present that we Stephen Davis,Icapce Parrish and Zucharah 
Sharkleford are held and firmly bound unto John Floyd ,Esq. governor or chief 
magistrait of Commonwealth of Va. and his successors for the use of the  
Commonwealth in the sum $2300 (?c che) payment whereof  well and holy to be made 
we bind ourselves and our heirs____ _____ firmly by those present sealed with 
our seals and dated 21st day Mar. 1831.
The condition of the above obligations is such that the above is bound  Stephen 
Davis hath been appointed by the county  clerk of Mecklenburg, Constable in 
District #_  of therefore the said Stephen Davis shall well and holy execute his 
said office of  Constable agreeably to law these the above obligation to be void 
else remain in full force and virtue.
