Died

Seymour Puryear died at his home near Swepsonville [Alamance Co, NC] the 21st of 
Jan. in the ninety second year of his age. He was born in Mecklenburg Co, Va., moved

to this state in 1819 and immediately connected himself with the M. E. Church, 
South, in which he lived a consistent christian life for sixty five years. He owned

a fine property and was liberal towards his church and kind to the poor. He was four

times married and left over two hundred and fifty descendants.
