Thanks be to the Lord for the same and calling to mind the uncertainty of all earthly things and not knowing how soon I may be called off the stage of life, do make, ordain, constitute and appoint this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following. I lend unto my beloved wife Ann Jeffries during her widowhood one third part of my land and plantation and the following Negroes, Lowell, Ned, Alice, Anieu, Nan, and Charles together with the following stock. Third of the choice horse kind, a side saddle and bridles, twenty head of cattle, thirty head of hogs, all my sheep, three feather beds with their furniture together with all my other household stuff. But in case she marries then my will and desire is that should have during her natural life, three Negroes, to wit, Annica and her increase, Ned and Alice, her choice of horse and saddle, ten head of cattle, twenty head of hogs, two feather beds and their furniture, and at the end of her widowhood or death, the said estate so ------------as above to be sold as my executor here after named shall think fit. And the money thence ------- to be equally divided between my three daughters, Susanna Jeffries, Nancy Jeffries, and Jane Jeffries to them and their heirs forever. My will and desire is that my Negro fellow, Manuel, be sold as soon after my death as my executor shall think fit and the money thence arriving to be equally divided amongst three above mentioned daughters. I give and bequeath to my son, Thomas Jeffries all my land I at present ------- consisting of five hundred and seventy acres be the some more or less, also my two Negroes, to wit, Charles and Sallie, and their increase to him the said Thomas Jeffries, his heirs and assigns forever. I give and bequeath to my daughter Susanna Jeffries a Negro girl named Girle? And her increase forever to her the said Susanna Jeffries, her heirs and assigns forever. But in case the Negro should decease before my said daughter comes of age or marries that then the said valuation of the said Negro to be made unto her out of the other part of my estate, as my executor shall think fit. I give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy Jeffries one Negro girl named Polly, to her the said Nancy Jeffries her heirs and assigns forever. But in case the said Negro girl should decease before my said daughter comes of age or marries the valuation of the said Negro to be made up to her out of the other part of my estates as my executor shall think fit. I give and Bequeath to my daughter Jane Jeffries one Negro girl named Annie to her the said Jane Jeffries her heirs and assigns forever. But in case the said Negro should decease before my said daughter comes of age or marries that then the valuation of the said Negro to be made up out of the other part of my Estate, as my executor shall think fit. My desire is that if my son Thomas Jeffries deceases in his minority, that the said land and Negroes bequeathed to him to be sold, and equally divided among my other children. Finally I appoint my brother Swepson Jeffries and Seth Moore and my friend Benjamin Whitehead my executors of this my last will and testament.
