It appears to this Court that the said Priscilla Chowning is the widow of John Chowning and has a son nine years old which is ordered to be certified. A Copy Teste: Will Churchill CLK I do with the advice of Council hereby certify Priscilla Chowning, widow of John Chowning, late a private in the 7th Virginia Regiment and died in the service of the Continental, is entitled to the sum of six pounds yearly, commencing from the 1st day of January 1789. Given under my hand as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, at Richmond, this 18th day of August 1789.
